A Note on Black Coir Mats

Our black coir doormats are made using dyed black coir yarns, rather than surface-printed black, to achieve a deeper and longer-lasting color. However, as coir is a natural fiber, it has a threshold for colorfastness, and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and moisture will cause fading over time. This is a natural characteristic of coir and does not affect the durability or functionality of the mat.

To extend the vibrancy of your mat, we recommend placing it in a shaded or covered area.

Please note: Although Coir is naturally stain, rot and mildew resistant, like us, it doesn’t love getting its hair wet! Wherever possible, we recommend keeping your mat away from regular and direct rain. Saturation may cause the natural tannins of the fibres to change colour.
